Some ground can only be held from the air.

Pointer Logistics supplies, supports and procures for manned aviation — and designs and builds the unmanned aircraft that fly beside it. One hangar, both halves of the flight line.

The bearing

Aviation stops working when the parts, the paperwork and the people who fix it sit with three different suppliers. We hold all three.

Operators across Africa fly hard, far from a spares counter, in conditions that punish equipment. Pointer exists to shorten that line: sourcing, supplying and supporting manned fleets, then extending the same discipline to the unmanned aircraft we design and manufacture ourselves.

The two sides feed each other. What we learn keeping crewed aircraft serviceable in the field shapes how we build airframes for it — and what we build unmanned takes the routine, the repetitive and the dangerous off the crewed fleet.

Where we work

Five kinds of ground.
One set of instruments.

Bearing 020

Border management

Long, thin, under-resourced frontiers. Persistent air cover for detection, tracking and the handover to whoever responds on the ground — day, night and across terrain that no vehicle patrol reaches twice.

  • Persistent watch
  • Detect & track
  • Night capability

What we do

Four disciplines,
run as one line.

Supply

Keep it serviceable

Parts, consumables, ground support equipment and AOG cover. Aircraft on ground is measured in hours, not days, and we plan our stock around that.

  • Rotables & consumables
  • AOG response
  • Ground support equipment

Support

Keep it flying

Maintenance liaison, spares logistics, technical documentation and operator support — the unglamorous work that decides whether a fleet makes its hours.

  • Fleet availability
  • Spares logistics
  • Technical liaison

Procurement

Source it properly

Aircraft, components, sensors and systems, sourced against a specification rather than a catalogue. Supplier vetting, traceability, import and export handled end to end.

  • Specification & sourcing
  • Supplier vetting
  • Import, export & compliance

Development

Build what is missing

Design, integration and manufacture of unmanned aircraft and mission systems — for the jobs where nothing on the market fits the ground, the range or the budget.

  • Airframe design
  • Payload integration
  • Series manufacture

Unmanned

We are building
our own airframes.

Pointer is standing up unmanned aircraft manufacture at Rand Airport: airframe design, assembly, payload integration and test under one roof, with the supply and support business already in the building.

The aircraft are built for African operating conditions — distance, dust, altitude and very little infrastructure at the far end of the flight. Platform details and performance figures follow their release.

The base

Rand Airport,
Gauteng.

A licensed airfield on the edge of Johannesburg's industrial belt — hangar space, a runway on the doorstep and the freight, customs and engineering network of Gauteng within reach. Supply, support and manufacture sit in the same place, which is the point.
